Most become experts by working or owning a hardware store.I don't think there is any school for this.

be like me and buy everything that is new in hardware and find that most pleople giving advice in buying computer parts dont know what there talking about you can test diffrent combinations and find things dont work togather like segate sata2 drives dont make a bootable raid unless in windows on nf4 mb or on gigabyte nf 4 with mediacenter it wont boot after the first windows update if your running a nvidia video card just buy atleast one of every cpu and motherboard and 4 of every harddrive and every video card over $200 every os every dvd drive every case and power supplie youll know more than anyone in any computer store

Tear apart a few old computers and put them back together again!
Check with your community college for classes on computer repair, or search the internet for a correspondance course with your interests.
