My Samsung Mp3 PLayer Sucks --- WHY?

Question

I don't understand what is going on here. I called them up and told them what happened, essientially the mp3 player installed itself, found new hardware, and went on to sync songs on the first shot... then today, the day after I first sync'd music, it doesn't recognize the device and says at first "Don't Disconnect, then it says charging" for about twenty seconds until it turns off and turns on automatically again, doing this whole process over again...

I checked the website, and the folks at Samsung told me that "the wires might be crossed" I reset the button, reinstalled windows media player 10, all that stuff, and I don't know what to do.

Can anyone recommend a good mp3 player that doesn't require synching through windows media player, cause my inclination is that my computer is messed up with windows media player, and honestly, all I want to do is click, copy, and paste files to and from my mp3 player, and supposedly nobody makes those kind anymore - at least @Best Buy, Thnx

I have experience with Samsung mp3 players, and I think the source of your trouble is a corrupt music file. Try removing all of the songs, and then only transfer songs that you ripped from studio version cd's or songs purchased from iTunes. Songs that are downloaded from sites like Limewire may seem like they are whole and uncorrupted, but after they are transferred onto your player, it becomes apparent that they are in fact garbage. I have had to reinstall my Yepp's firmware numerous times because it kept switching off, and showing no songs - even though it was full. You can also try installing the drivers for the player on your computer.

Your samsung mp3 player should be able to work without WMP. If it has the Playsforsure logo on the box, and you use Win XP, you can drag and drop the files. All the Creatives will do this. I use a Samsung YP-U2, which works great. I also recommend the Sandisk Sansa, but I've found that Samsungs seem to be more reliable. You can find any of these models at Best Buy.
