In a pear tree.

It's thought that it comes from some linguistic confusion - the French for partridge is une perdrix, which sounds like 'pear tree'.

In a pear tree in your house and depending on what day of Christmas it is you could have any number between one and twelve. However it may be hard to find the partridges as they may have been frightened away by all the turtle doves, french hens, calling birds, gold ring, geese, swans, maids, ladies, lords, pipers and drummers.

For the song: in a pear tree
For TV lovers: riding on the bus to sing at the concert with the rest of the family
In Louisiana: Blackened and smothered in gravy with a side of grits.
