Everyone says next time i'll win when they lose and when they win they are all happy and excited. So I was playing this game and I realized i had been playing it for hours and i had not lost, but that wasn't the only thing i notaced... i was dissapointed that i had not lost. so my question is do we play to win or do we play to lose, or is there another reason to play?

The very play excites so much, that the only time we remember of winning or losing is before & after !

we learn more by losing then by winning. Winning just rewards us to keep doing what we were already doing. Losing tells us to think and try a different strategy. When we start out losing and then win, it's a feeling of accomplishment, that you've learned something and gotten better at whatever game you were playing. But once we are already consistantly winning, there isn't much more to do and we naturally lose interest in the game. The only thing we can do at that point when we're winning all the time change strategy anyway knowing it make us less likely to win, see what variables make us more likely to win.

In the end, it's more fun to lose and then win, and winning all the time becomes boring very fast.

In this case, you were playing for the challenge. Before you realized that you hadn't lost, you were happy because you thought you were meeting a challenge on its terms. When you realized that you had no real chance to lose, you're dissappointment came from the fact that you weren't indeed meeting a worthy challenge.

Shows you're healthy.

We play for the fun and challenges in a game/puzzle... we hate it when we loose and would try harder to win... trying and striving to do better is what most of us endeavor to do... so winning is the more of the thrill of the challenge or climb upward. Once you win, it's like an anti climatic moment because you know it's over and you have to search for the next challenge. :)

You can play as a social interaction, to just be with people, you might let a child win on occasion.

we play to be challenged. You were not challenged and therefore you were disappointed.

You can lose and lose and lose, but if you are challenged, you will still be engaged.
