I am having my first baby in April. I know it is a girl and she is kicking really good. I feel almost as though I am in a fog though. The pregnancy feels very real to me but the birth and after seems like a dream. I am 20 and mature, I think anyways, but when I picture holding the baby for the first time it's almost like I am seeing a child holding a child or something. Anyone else feel this and how did it go after the birth. I am very excited but I wonder if this feeling is a bad sign?

No, its not a bad sign...becoming a parent is a HUGE thing, and its something you really don't understand until the baby is born, then the mom instincts take over. The fact that you even noticed that feeling and are concerned about it tells me that you will probably be a wonderful mom! The labor and delivery of your beautiful baby girl will seem mysterious to you until it happens since you don't know what to expect yet! Don't worry, you'll do great! Good luck and congrats!!!

Its not a bad sign!! ok
Its seems like a dream because you are entering a stage in your life that you have never experience before, having a baby, especially your first is life changing and your mind is not letting you think too in depth about it all. Don`t worry, when you hold your little girl in your arms, it will become so clear and right.
By the way, with my first, the only time I felt pregnant was when he kicked. I didn`t have much of a tummy, and had the same feelings as you, but that all changed when my son was born.

Im 18 and almost 39 weeks pregnant. So that means anyday now my little boy will be in my arms. Sometimes when I picture it, it seems very weird and unreal because I too still feel like a child. It's going to be very weird not just being my boyfriend and I in our house anymore because we have such a daily routine. I think I sometimes just get nervous and anxious and see myself as too young, but I know in the end everything will be wonderful. You shouldn't feel bad for feeling this way, I'm certain everything will work out fine. I guess life changing experiences like this really mean it's time for us to grow up. Good luck and best wishes to you and your daughter.

I had my fist last March and it still feels like a dream sometimes. I look back on my life and still wonder how I got where I am. I couldn't imagine what it would be like and I have a lot of experience with small children, and have even been with friends and family to for their children's births. If someone had described it to me, I would still have been shocked when she was born and in the several weeks to follow. You are in for the most amazing, and daunting experience of your life. And it doesn't matter if you are ready or not, she is coming and you will love her more than anthing you could possibly have imagined. I wish you all the best of luck and joy!

It seems like a dream because you havn't been there before. I felt like this too. I was 20 when I had my first and 22 when I had my second in july. Everything has gone great. It's not a bad sign. Enjoy your baby.
