sometimes it's hard to keep slippers or anything for that matter on children that age, if the floor is warm and they don't seem to mind, I don't see a problem with it
I think parents these days have a lot more to worry about then their kids wearing something on their feet

I must be stupid or something because I really don't understand your question. If I am in my house, no matter what time of day or week or year, I am barefoot. I have enjoyed this since I was able to tell my mother to back off. I was raised and grew up in the Rocky Mountains so I know what cold is. I also refuse to wear hats in winter, spring, summer or fall.

Do you really have something against going barefoot in the house? Unless you have splintered floors that could cause injury - why would you object?

So what's the problem? I have a dozen shoes and slippers and socks thrown everywhere..but they'd rather have ice cold feet...what can I do nail the shoes to their feet or yell till my brain explodes? I just keep carpeting down where they spend most of their time...it's about the best I can do.

Keep the house warm and don't put down ceramic tiles.

It's natural; having shoes isn't. They are able to zip up an down those stairs and whip up furniture like monkeys a hell of a lot better barefoot after all. Life is way better without shoes...we've just forgotten that as adults.

I'm an adult, and I'm still wearing flip flops outside in November!! I hate wearing socks around the house, and I grew up in Alaska. I don't think there's really anything to be worried about here, but if it's a concern, why don't you get the kids some fun socks or slippers that they may enjoy wearing.

Here in Hawaii, it is a custom to enter a house without shoes on. If you don't take them off the people would be offended. So people walk barefooted here.

at 7 and 10 they should be perceptive enough to know if their feet are cold. as long as you don't have snow for floors they will probably be ok. maybe they enjoy the feeling of being closer to the earth and more connected to the ground....

They will not get sick from cold feet. If their feet are cold they are old enough to do something about it. I wouldn't make an issue out of it if my kids wanted to.
