Go to your state's bar website and see if they have a lawyer referral service. That way you know you are getting one that the bar approves of.

Use the site below to research for a lawyer. Read the tip on how to use the google search on the page. Should be a decent place to start. Also for another tip - when you see an ad you want to click on use your right click and open in a new window. This will let you stay on the main site while looking for different lawyers.

There are lawyer referral services if you are unsure of what type of lawyer you need. Look in the yellow pages under lawyer referral. Ive paid $20 for the referral and Ive been referred for free. Give them you info and they will have a lawyer call you based on your needs. But seriously the lawyer section of the yellow pages is the largest section.

Look for someone whom you trust. If you do not personally know one, then ask your friend and relative for referrals because a client-lawyer relationship regarding a case must have mutual trust.
