Hey Erica..Kentucky has several counties that have 50 % or higher drop out rates. A TON of their schools were also classified as low performing. Please dont put KY on the same par as NY, IL, or Wisconsin!
Check Lexington Herald for stats.

I lived in MS for 6 months with my dad. I used to curse that state because he lived there. After being there, it wasn't at the utmost state of horrible. It is always HOT. It is flat, there are tornadoes, and it is pretty much boring. People there are weird, the people that I ran into classified as sluts and wiggers. The part that I was in, there are a lot of "bad neighborhoods", and not so nice people. And there are a lot of Mexicans, I am not prejudice, they just make me feel uncomfortable. I have not been through the whole state, so I can't say nothing about the rest. Out of a 10, though, I'd give it a 4.

I can't understand why people insist on judging places they have never been. It's extremely frustrating to me because I'm form Kentucky. I saw your question about people from KY being uneducated. The answer is no, there are no more uneducated people in KY then there are anywhere else in the country. I was born and raised in KY, its a great place! I also happen to be in me third year of law school and I'm second in my class, so I wouldn't exactly call that uneducated.

Places are places. Mississippi has its flaws (don't drink the water, for example :P ) but if you know how you can adapt to anyplace as long as you have friends.
