In the early 60s, there wasn't a lot of teen drug use. It was there, but not huge. In the mid-60s, it was mostly marijuana. Most of us were too smart for heroin. Quaaludes came about in 1965, and were popular in the early 70s. LSD was banned in 1967, and became more popular after the banning, especially with the Deadhead culture, which started about 1965. Very few kids were into drugs while going to school, more became involved after they graduated.
