The popular "low carb, high protein" diets do have merit. However, if you're following a strict regimin of protein, yet still indulge in high-sodium foods, you're going to appear bloated. Make sure to check the sodium content on food labels. The lower, the better.
Also, many people are under the misconception that crunches and abdominal workout alone will get rid of belly fat. Sure, it helps to have toned abs, but you need to get rid of the fat in front of it first. The most effective way to do that is, instead of target training (working the muscle group in specific areas of the body) is by overall fat reduction. You can do this by, like you mentioned, working out again and running regularly (or partaking in any activities which get your heart rate up for more than 20 minutes). Be consistent with your workouts! Good luck!

There are no specific foods that target belly fat. You should drink at least 8 cups of water a day to flush out the system and shed bloating. You should supplement your diet and exercise with CLA pills - conjugated linoleic acid. This will help block cortisol which tends to store fat around the midsection. You can buy CLAs at your local health store, such as GNC or VitaminShoppe.

Best diet is no diet. Don't change the foods you eat (apart from cutting down on sugars and visible fats). But do cut your meat portions to half of what you were eating before and maybe increase your green vegetables. So over all, you only have to eat sensibly and of course exercise. Wholla!

I just started a natural and healthy no diet weight loss plan that allows you to eat your normal foods. I have lost almost 30 pounds in just over 40 days as well as almost 3" in my waist. I have not skipped meals and I didn't have to eat or buy special foods. I hope you find what you are looking for and I hope you get to your goal

Low fat, but the diet is just as important as your exercise which needs to include cardio: walking, running, etc. to get your heart rate up. You cannot just spot reduce. Your body will reduce fat from the parts it is naturally set up to loose from first.
