Haley Joel Osment is the best I've ever seen, but he's no longer a child, so I'd go with Freddie Highmore for current child. Freddie was brilliant as Charlie, and in that Peter Pan movie with Johnny Depp. He's in a new one that's part animated called Arthur and the Invisibles. Looks like it'll be good too. He gets to do voice work as well as regular acting.

Fergus Mcclelland who was in the Boy ten feet tall.....he did an excellent job of acting to be so young.
