why are people actually buying these 3 and 4000 dollar PS3's on ebay and other sites I even seen a stores website that said save 1100 dollars on the ps3 and get it for only $1899 ..lol jeez sounds like your gettin screwed and not even gettin kissed.. why not just wait for the next few shipments to come in and go to you local dept store and pick one up hassle free.?? all i can say if you've bought a ps3 for more than $599 plus tax you deserve the... Im ignorant stamp on your forehead .

Lots of people have too much money, so they can spend it anyway they want. Some people just don't have the patience to wait until next year to get the PS3 off the shelf. Some people really wants the PS3 and willing to pay a lot for it. To each his own. Personally, I think they're idiots for spending so much on it. And I think they're contributing to the problem. If they didn't bid that high on the PS3, then people wouldn't be putting it on auctions. If all the PS3s that were put on auction were taken off, there would be a lot of gamers who would be having a happy Christmas. Only true gamers should be allowed to get game consoles. Sony could have avoided the mass hysteria if it had asked Ebay not to allow anyone to put a PS3 on the auction block.

well if the parents are rich, pulling in 6 figure salary a year, and if a ps3 will make their kid happy, they'll buy it for them. there are doctors, lawyers, theres enough of these parents around to buy up the ps3s at outrageous prices. cant put a price on your kid's happiness.
rich kids will buy them, not much to say about that. from what i have heard, sony wont have another batch of ps3 til next year, so with that said, desperate people will pay alot more.
supply and demand. this is the demand-push inflation effect. too much demand not enough supply, prices are being driven up. doesn't matter if its overpriced. because the people who have money will spend it. if i had a ps3, i'd be selling it, im not rich enough to keep one nor am i that stupid. take advantage of the rich... they already get away with taxes with a 6 figure salary.
