It depends on the situation.
Here's a couple examples
Honey does this outfit look OK? I think it would be ok to tell a lie especially a Beautiful lie. However a honest response might be
It looks ok but I really like the way you look in ...........
The second outfit is more slimming/Flattering
2) You cheat on you bf and end up pregnant. I think in this case honesty is the only option.........

99.9% of the time honesty is the best policy
The truth will eventually come out
When you tell one lie you usually end up telling others to support or cover up the first lie.
When you get caught in a lie it says more about your character than about what you were lying about in the first place Issues of trust are harbored long after the beautiful lie was told.
Integrity.................look it up!!!!!!!!!!!!

you've just been in a horrible car accident. While you manage to get out relatively unscathed, the passanger next to you has his guts leaking out of his abdomen. He asks if he's alright. Do you

A) Tell the truth about his condition and that he's probably not going to make it at this point, sending him deeper into shock and making it less likely he'll live.

B) Lie about his current condition, cheer him up and tell him he's going to be alright until the ambulance arrives, giving him a better shot of surviving the accident.

lying and creating social fictions is a necessary part of living in a society. Sometimes it's necessary to lie even if both you and the person your lying to know that your in fact lying.

The other option is to be so bluntly honest that it fractures human relationships, such as telling your girlfriend that she's fat for example. Regardless of the fact that she maybe fat, you still don't tell her that, as it never results in her actually losing weight, only in her being upset at you.

A life built on lies is a false life. For your well-being, it is best to tell the truth. Additionally, the truth will help another person to make the right decision. If a decision maker did not have accurate information, how could they ever make the right decision? They would be making a decision based on innacurate information. Think of all the corporate scandals...lies cause people to make the wrong decisions. When you tell the truth, you will feel better about yourself because you have treated another person ethically and have helped them to make the right decision.

Depends on the situation really... Would the lie affect the aspects of others' lives significantly, such as their career or health? If not, it would be best for a well-kept-secret lie, for the sake of everyone..

lies are like plugs that stop water from leaking those plugs will only hold the water for so far and so the horrible truth will come out more worse than when it started so as the bucket fills more and more with the truth more holes which are opportunities for lies keep opening up and you can't resist but filling in the openings with lies filthy damaging lies

To your own self be true. The only truth you have is YOUR OWN TRUTH. This sounds like it may not be agreeable to some, but it is my motto...."I tell the truth....even when I lie."

If you lie, the truth will come out eventually and it will be worse. :)

Just go to the limit.
If you don't lie 6,000,000,000 people will die.

What does the categorical imperitive tell you?
Judge for yourself.
