The 14-year-old daughter of close friends. She was the same age as my son at the time..a tragedy, but it made me appreciate my son all the more!

My best friend..she was only 30. Another tragedy; she was too young and vivacious.

My maternal grandmother. A beautiful angel; she didn't deserve the pain.

My mother 26 years ago; another angel. It broke my heart at the time; my heart's never healed and never will. I think about her everyday and still miss her.

One of my fraternal aunts..a naughty little lady, and ever so lovable. I wish she was still here because she was one of those special people who don't judge. I'd like to share my secrets with her, & hear more of hers.

My father.

I've had a couple of brushes with cancer myself. I don't hold much hope for a long life, but I'm a battler.

On the bright side, at least with cancer you generally have time to tell your special people how much you love them!

If you're trying to come to terms with someone with cancer try and practice 2 things:-
.. 5 out of 7 days be strong and cheerful with them
.. 2 out of 7 days laugh & cry with them about your memories and how much you're going to miss them.

If you're the one that has cancer; fight, fight, fight!
If you've lost the battle, please please please make the effort to share your thoughts, memories and experiences with those you love.
Rest assured, you'll never be forgotten!

Sadly yes.....several.Mother, father, Grandparents both sides....friends....cancer knows no demographic halt...we all become quite vigilant an equal in the eyes of peril now don't we? I was diagnosed with it twice in the last year.....much to my surprise.....will find out and then fight it all the way..... I will live. Those around me are oddly in denial.....though I am not...it is VERY real. In answer to your question..yes, many different kinds at that..hope you haven't...i wish you the very very best.

Yes, my father, my uncle and his wife. Very devastating. They all died one month apart right behind the next.
