Bill Russell - 5 time MVP, 12 time All-Star, 11 time NBA Champion, 2 time NCAA Champion, averaged 22.5 rebounds per game fro his career, had 51 rebounds in one game and 49 in 2 others.
He is the greatest defensive and player the game has ever seen. He was also the consumate "team player".

MAgic Johnson. He was voted as the smartest player ever by NBA players. He beat the other MJ out of the MVP several times. I pick him as the best TEAM player of all time. Next will be Jordan then Stockton. Many people forget about how when the LAkers put him in at center he took over the game scored 45 points and brought them the championship. Labron is not in the top 20 in my book yet. There were so many players that started out great then after several years died down. (Penny Hardaway, Vince Carter,Grant Hill)

Shaq O'Neal
Member of 4 NBA championship teams (Lakers 3, Heat 1).
Finals MVP 3 times.
Has lead his teams to championships, has won it in two different cities, MVP honors show he is dominant when it counts most.
Look what the Lakers are without him - nothing. Look what the Heat were before he got there - nothing. Look what Orlando has been since he left - nothing.
Russell did win many championships. He was, however, fortunate to play for the Celtics machine under Red Auerbach. The level of competition back then is not what it is now (proof is that the Celtics played the Lakers over and over in the Finals - about 2/3 of the league was garbage in the 50s and 60s).

I have to agree about Wilt.
They changed the rules of the game because of him. No other player made them change the dimensions and rules.
I saw him go up with two guys, one hanging on each arm, and dunk the ball.
100 points in a game. What was Jordan's best?

Wilt Chamberlain because he dominated the court when he played. To score 100 points and pull down over 50 rebounds in a game says a lot. And he scored tons of points every night. He is a legend and in his prime could dominate even today's NBA and their up tempo style.

JOE KLEINE. HAHAHA. What's wrong, Greg Kite was not available? Seriously WILT. The game changed completely because of him. Honorable mention, Bill Russell.
