Quote: "trying to insult someone as a debater who goes to one of the top schools in the country is kind of a stupid idea, it speaks for itself, i don't need to mention the fact that I'm a mensa. I really don't care if you go fight, nor your "brothers in arms." these are the people who kill entire Iraqi families including children and rape women.

They listen to "let the bodies hit the floor" and think they're playing a video game because their ignorant parents couldn't afford to buy them a nintendo as a child. You think this is just a group? This is an organization of the INTELLIGENT people in this country making a statement. You people in the military are simply our employees and you have further proved that point by trying to act like your lexicon can exceed mine, not possible.

You know why we don't go meet with those representatives? Because we students at USC, NYU, BU, Northeastern, etc. WILL BE THE REPRESENTATIVES. WE RUN THIS COUNTRY." End quote.

Don't you think this is sad?

Mensa has three stated purposes: to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity; to encourage research in the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence; and to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members. wikipedia.com

Actually, Charlie. I'm just curious to see if Mensa creates the arrogant attitude, or if it was there before. I'm actually sincere about this, because I've seen many people claim that they're in Mensa, but show me that they can jam both feet into their mouth.

"Today there are some 100,000 Mensans in 100 countries throughout the world. There are active Mensa organizations in over 40 countries on every continent except Antarctica."

No, we all not all like that. Not every motorcycle club member is a criminal, not every American is "evil". You cannot lump "every" with any group of people.

What I think is sad is that so many people have such a bad opinion of something that they clearly know nothing about.

Whoa, that really is sad & kind of disturbing that someone that intelligent could be so, well, stupid. Not all Mensa members think that way. I'm not really sure how to respond to that, so I'm just going to leave it there.

Sadly, Mensa only refers to IQ percentile. It makes no reference to taste, morality, common sense, or the ability to relate to people.
I'm MENSA qualified, but not a member. Trust me, for all their ranting - intelligence can only take you so far and that is not nearly as far as these immature ones think.

Sad? Pathetic is more like it. I thought these folks were supposed to be intelligent. Or isn't human judgment a part of intelligence?

That's no MENSA member. I used to be one myself (Wechsler IQ 187) and while they are typically very arrogant they can usually spell and write coherently.

Socially inept. High IQ, low people skills. Mensans have their little club because other people don't like them. It only takes a 130 IQ to get in. My cat is that smart. But my cat always thanks me for food, unlike the average Mensan.
