I wouldn't call myself a metal head, but I do enjoy hard rock sometimes - or good music for that matter, regardless of the genre/ label. I just picked up Leaves Eyes' Legend Land E.P. for a real steal ($15) and it suits my taste very well - kind of like Theatre of Tragedy, but much more European/ Celtic-sounding.

Anyway, I'd just like to hear from fans of Liv Kristine etc. and get some recommendations for this kind of music (is it gothic-symphonic metal?) - bands and albums. Beautiful female vocals are a must. And f.y.i., I do not generally like American-sounding metal. Thanks.

(Notes: this is not a music forum, so I'm not looking for critics. And f.y.i., I live in Asia, in an area that does not usually import exotic, non-mainstream CDs. I got Legend Land from Borders.)

Well, Type A Negative, even though I asked for albums and for goth metal, I really appreciate your old school post-punk singles set. Lullaby, Are Friends Electric and In Our Angelhood. Hmmm. Delicious. It could work, even in the clubs, I reckon.

Manowar, Blind father or mom, Gamma Ray, Helloween.. it really is mostly ability metallic. fairly some their lyrics contain what you stated. you could also attempt Avantasia or Hammerfall. Oh, and Lacuna Coil seems such as Nightwish and yet another band i got here upon is Ensiferum. perchance you'll like it, too. and also you would possibly want to pay interest to Iron Maiden in case you become bored!
