Mormons are no weirder than those crazy cannibal cults that symbolically eat their gods flesh and drink his blood every Sunday! now those people are odd!

I shouldn;t think a president's religion would stop him
from his duties. Kennedy was a great president and he
was catholic. I have known a few mormons and they are
some of the nicest people I have come across. Dick and
Helen with their daughter circled the globe in their yacht
for four or five times when I met them in Hong Kong..
Dick died recently and he will be sorely missed amongst
the yachties and all the people he came in touch with.
So, I wouldn't judge anybody for their religious beliefs
except maybe muslims ? Where the killing of infidels
is almost a sport. Urged on by their clerics they will even
kill their own people.

A persons religion shouldn't influence your vote, especially the doctrines of that religion. The fact that it makes them a moral, family oriented person can't be a negative. Look at how someone votes, their agenda, whether you can trust them, etc. and vote for the best man. Government and religion don't mix, that's why there are Mormons who are Democrats and Republican (See Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, big time Dem). Romney is a good guy, I agree.

This I cannot understand...would a person vote against another person who had high moral values, honesty, and integrity because of their religion? That makes no sense, just because he is mormon, doesn't mean he wouldn't do a great job as a President. He at least stands up for what is right, how many politicians do that?

Mitt Romney is a fascinating person. I think he would make an excellent President and I would never not select him because of his religious beliefs. I have been tracking him for over a year now (I am involved in politics) and see him as a very strong contender in 08.

No problem. We've had Catholics, Baptists, Episcopalians, Methodists so why not Mormons?
It is the stand a president takes that makes the difference, not his religion.

Politicians have a right to private religious lives, and I would hope that one who is in a religious minority might be concerned about safeguarding the rights of other minority groups. I would vote based on his positions on domestic and international issues.

I wouldn't decline any candidate based upon their faith alone. I don't know much about him politically, so I can't say whether or not I'd vote for him, but I can say that his religion is not a deterrent thus far.

I would have no problem voting for a Mormon for President. I don't know enough about Mitt Romney yet to know if I will support him, but his faith will not be the deciding factor.

As long as he/she keeps their religion OUT of the Oval Office and all of our lives I don't care what religion they embrace. I'm not a fan of Romney, but it doesn't have anything to do with his religion.
