And I have no problem with this but my mom was kinda scared.
She keeps saying stuff like not to leave my clothing around and to keep my undies clean because she could take that and hurt me with it ( in relation to Voodoo stuff).
When I was a freshman I had an Asian roomate and she never said this other crazy stuff than "they arn't christian, they worship budda and that stuff" even though I tell her they dont WORSHIP that stuff, but they just believe in it.
My roomate has been in the states ( legally ) for about 5 years and her family seems nice. I went home this week and my mom washed my socks. Two diffrent colors are missing. So she actually keeps them and tells me to look for the other two in my dorm room. I only found one, so now my mind is racing.
I think she is crazy, but my mom is from the carribean and believe me, I KNOW Voodoo and the dark arts are real and dangerous.
what the heck do I do. She doesn't even speak english that well, but haitian creole. GOSH.

I grew up with my mom's suspicions of Haitian voodoo (and Caribbean voodoo, in general).
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Why would she be out to get you? You haven't done anything to her.
You're probably overworking yourself for no reason. Not all Haitians care about voodoo. Look for the sock and if you don't find the other one, just nicely ask her if she has seen them.

I am trying not to roll my eyes too hard because I already have a headache.
I assume that you and your roomate are both in college to GET AN EDUCATION. Haiti is a very poor country, so I am sure that your roomate is very focused on the importance of college and isn't really thinking about wasting time with "voodoo" on you or anyone else. She is probably a very nice girl who is not plotting against you. And not all Haitian people know voodoo.
It is also normal for socks to get lost in the wash. This happens to everyone. Haven't you ever heard of the sock monster?
Here's the real problem: Black people in this country enough issues to deal with as it is. And here you are acting ugly and predjudiced towards this poor girl because of where she's from? Shame on you! Both of you should be, if not friends, then at least supportive of each other. And your mother should know better.

OMG, I can't believe what I am reading. Voodoo is a religion, a mixture of Catholic and African tribal customs, originally practised by slaves of the French plantations. It is not a "dark art". Most of it centers around blessings and prayer, not evil spells or curses. Sounds like mom and others watch too many bad movies. Read about it before you judge someone. This girl is there to learn, just as you are, and I think you owe her an apology. I have been to Haiti, and the people there are wonderful, smart and friendly. Make an effort to get to know her. I'm sure that she also speaks French besides Creole, most educated people in Haiti do, some speak English and/or Spanish too. Superstition and ignorance are dangerous things, and you would do well to learn not to give in to that kind of fear and hatred.

I think you should do nothing. That stuff is only fantasy unless you chose to believe it. Try to remember why youa re in college and that is to learn and to get a good job when you graduate. So worry about that and less about voodoo. If you can't control her behaviour and it bothers you then ask the dorm RA for a transfer. Anyhow, at least don't live with her next semester. Simple as that. I think your colored socks are fine and so will you be!

Are you sure she even practices Vodou. She could be protestant. Those are the two main religions in the country. Besides if she does practice Vodou she probably does not curse people. Bokors curse people. They are the ones that use both hands for magic. They will do anything for a price. You have had no problems with her why worry. Talk to her about the religion and what she practiced in Haiti. This is a good way to get to know her better.

Tsk.. YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF RACISTS!!! Take her home to meet your mom, have her have dinner with the family and show her that she's really not a bad person! Geez, I hate racist people, and you seem like you are trying to understand her better rather than pass judgement on the poor girl. I mean, she hardly speaks english! I bet people are treating her like crap and they really need to cut her some slack. She's HUMAN for God sakes! Protect her and have other people leave her alone, unless you actually SEE her doing something sadistic or satanic, I don't really think they have anything to judge. I would honestly bring her home to meet your mom. Maybe your mother will open her mind a little and welcome even more of your friends over. Maybe there will be new horizons, and if you show her the world is not as "black and white" as she thinks it is, she will trust you and your instincts better and have a larger degree of respect for you. What do you have to lose? :-)

Aren't you a little old to believe in Voodoo? This much panic over a missing sock is completely unwarranted. Go wiki voodoo, do a little research if you want, because you seem to have a pretty active imagination that could stand to be tempered with some facts. And shame on your mom as well.

in case you do no longer opt to work out him in his boxers, much less bare or bathe with him (yet in basic terms on weeknights), and all or any of that makes you uncomfortable, you will would desire to consult from him approximately it! Lay down some floor regulations! i don't comprehend why you probably did no longer say something to him whilst he requested you to strip down on your undies in order that which you adult males would desire to get used to seeing one yet another that way!
