nothing compared to an hr nazi at one job i had. she would spy on people to make sure they were recording time worked to the exact minute. she screamed at some old guy until he died, caused her secretary to have seizures, and got i don't know how many people fired or forced them to quit just to prove she was in charge of everything. everyone over her was too scared to stop her.

my only preference would be to throw her under a bus if i ever got the chance.

I've had good bosses and bad bosses. In my case, the bad bosses of the past were female. But that doesn't mean that all female bosses are bad. The female boss that I have now is really nice. So I just prefer to have a boss that is not a jerk. Regardless of them being male or female.

Actually my boss is the exact opposite! He is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. He's not that horrible fake nice either, it's totally genuine. He truly cares for his staff and their families. However I have worked for dumb jerks before - they were a married couple with a small gas station. I used to be the sales assistant there. They paid me way below the minimum legal wage, I got no breaks ever, even when I did a 12 hour shift - yet they still paid me as if I HAD taken a break! And they never paid a cent into my retirement fund even though the law here (Australia) requires all employers to pay an extra 9% of the employee's wages into their retirement fund. Sooooo... oddly enough I prefer the nice boss! He treats everyone really well, I get paid what I'm supposed to and I get all my benefits, and my workplace is really relaxed, but still professional because everyone wants to do well for him.

My boss WAS a total jerk. I put up with it for 5 years because everything else about the job was perfect. I should have quit after the first month. Male boss. My preference in a boss, because of this experience, is one who is not a control freak who verbally abuses his/her employees. Male, female - it doesn't matter.

I've worked for both male and female jerky bosses. I have found that most of the time the bosses need to feel superior and may be a bit intimidated by their employees who they fear may be smarter or superior to them. I had a boss who I am sure would have liked to have gotten rid of all the women in the office (they were the secretarial staff) but he knew that the office would not be able to run smoothly without them. Its just the way the world of business runs.

I thought I preferred a woman because my last boss was female and she was great. My current boss (also a woman) sucks! Let me sum it up: she heads up the English Program at the Japanese school where I teach, but she hates English! And isn't comfortable around foreigners! Sheesh!

Jerks come in both male and female packages. I've had lousy bosses who were men, lousy bosses who were women, awesome bosses who were men, and awesome bosses who were women. No gender has specialty in being a jerky boss.

I had many "bosses" as you stated as them.... I want the call manager :-) And my very last one (left, 2 months in the past) turned right into a lady and she or he became tremendous, likely between the proper manager I had as a lot as now. And have self belief me, Ive had many (round 20). To me male or woman does not matter, the absolutely ingredient which counts for me is, are they up for the placement/ job. a million) sturdy communicator 2) manager skills (lead the crew, correct-rated with the help of party) 3) Act, do what you (they) say.... shop the promise or contract. 4) tremendous motivator: tell what you probably did incorrect and how you ought to do it or the right thanks to do it extra powerful!!!! (it truly is needed, powerful). i imagine they are equivalent male/ woman...... yet sturdy ones are not difficulty-free to discover.

My boss is a total idiot. Unfortunately, I'm self-employed.
