woke up from a deep sleep with severe cramps, sharp pains in my vaginal area. It hurt so bad but I felt the need to go the bathroom, I sat on the toliet but I didn't have to pee. Just felt severe pain and my vagina clenching and unclenching. Two days later while I was having sex with my boyfriend it felt weird down there so we stopped. There was blood and this bloody thick chunks of discharge. It wasn't my period as i had it two weeks before and after that hour of bleeding it stopped. Any ideas what it could have been?

Just wanted to add that while I am sexual active, it is just with this guy and we are both monogamus. Before I slept with him we both got tested for HIV and std's. I got a full pap smear and we used condoms until we had been together for a year. We got rechecked, full pap smear for me again and have been on my birth control for over a year.

At this factor, it'll seemingly be inconceivable to assert with certainty what occurred. It's viable you had one more ovarian cyst which burst, or you would good have had a miscarriage. Either one might produce signs such as you describe. And now that it is over with, it's going to be quite tricky to assess which it was once. I'd no longer rely on PCOS to ensure you do not get pregnant. Whilst it is now not as seemingly, principally if it is severe- existence has a method of peculiar you regularly, and you would not be the first lady with PCOS discover she's pregnant impulsively. If you have bleeding heavy enough to soak a great pad in lower than two hours, or you will have that kind of pain again- it is fine to go to the ER then and there. That manner, they can discover the reply. Because it stands now, there's no option to inform, so which you could retailer both time and cash and avert the ER.

Hmm...there are a LOT of possabilities here.

At first I had thought it sounded like a UTI (urinary tract infection) or even a yeast infection. Then you mentioned having a period two weeks prior to the bleeding for an hour that included chunky discharge, and that made me think that you could be pregnant. But, that wouldn't explain the clenching and unclenching of your vaginal muscles. The best thing to do would be to consult your regular gyno. Until you can do that, go to http://www.webmd.com They have some excellent resources available, including a 'symptom checker' that would probably be the most beneficial to you at the this point. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!

It sounds like it could be a few different things. It might be a side effect if you've started taking birth control recently. Since you said that it occured two weeks after your period, it may have something to do with ovulation. Also, vaginal bloody discharge can be the signs HPV on an advanced stage. If it was me, I would schedule an appointment with a gyno and have them check it out.

You need to get checked out by the doc. No way to know what is going on without your being examined.
