Christmas is a time to remember that Christ brought light into the world. It is celebrated close to the winter solstice when daylight hours are the shortest. After Christmas the daylight hours lengthen and in a few months spring arrives bringing new life. It is all symbolic of how Christ brought a new birth and eternal life to us all.

do you know Jesus? He is the one that was born of the Virgin Marry, yes she was totally pure, God tolled her through the angle Gabriel that she was to be with chilled and to call him Jesus. He is the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. its his birthday and He was born so that we could all be forgiven of our sins and go to Heaven to sit on the right hand side of God.
there is much more to the story of Christmas. read Matthew 1 verse18-Matthew 2 verse 12. also the 1st 2 chapters of Luke to find out more info.
note: some Bible verses vary so look for key words such as the birth of Jesus or the birth foretold. if u still need more info go to your local Christin church and ask the pastor to tell u, or give u pamphlets about the wonderful miracle that God gave us.
remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
wouldn't u love to be in a place with someone so powerful where there is no hurt or pain, not even crying. if u believe that He died on the cross to forgive u its all yours. i think that is so WOW! there aren't even any words to describe when it come to how i fell about living with my Lord.

It is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. I have heard some people say that the Catholic Church moved the actual date of the celebration to eclipse the importance of the pagan holiday of Saturnalia, but whether that's true or not, Christians celebrate the FACT of Jesus' birth. Whether it's on the correct day or not is of secondary importance, in my mind; I mean, we celebrate President's day to honor Presidents Washington and Lincoln, and there are reliable records as to when they were born.

Since I wrote my answer I have noticed that a lot of the other answers that make mention of the birth of Christ have got a fair few thumbs down. I wonder what some people are afraid of?
