Her Phone will start to turn on if you put the bettery from a different phone in it, but it flickersand only works for about a second before the screen goes blank. Any ideas on how to get the water out of it would be really helpful. Thanks!

Okay, any liquid voids the warranty so the first thing to do is Not to call your carrier right away. Take out the battery, lay them on a towel to dry for about 3 days. DON'T try to turn on the phone while it's wet because this can fry the boards inside the phone where it might have been fine once it dried out causing more damage. Also, don't use a blow dryer on it because heat can damage it as well.
Sometimes this will work pretty well but it may be too late since she already tried to turn it on. If it doesn't work check your contract to see if she purchased the optional phone insurance when she bought it.

well, if the phone is really good, then the only thing i can suggest is to go to a cell phone repair shop. you need the proper tools to open the phone. the water might have gotten into the inside part of the phone. it needs to be wiped from the inside. an expert should do this because if an amateur tries it himself, you'd risk getting the phone into further trouble.

or, if you really can't bring it to a repair person, try drying the phone with a hair dryer. remove the case and the battery and dry away! if i remember correctly, the same thing happened to my friend a few years back, but i think she was so grossed out (maybe some other things were in the toilet) that she ended up dumping the phone and buying a new one.

good luck!

I have never dropped my cell phone in a toilet. That's because i have never taken it to the bathroom with me. That's personal time.

It depends on the type of CP your mother has. This thing happened to me thrice, and here's what I did:
I removed the case of my CP, including the keypads and battery. I dried my phone under the sun for three days. I replced my battery because it has kind of leak (something like an alkaline fluid) and that's it. If you still got a problem about your mother's phone, contact a Cellphone repair shop for more options! (lol)

dont go buy a new one yet - let it dry for a few days and it might come back on - i made the mistake in buying a new phone when i dropped mine into the lake and a few days later it worked - cross your fingers and wait a few days.

I was cleaning our pool one day and dropped my cell in the skimmer. After trying everything I could think of, I finally had to declare it toast and get a new one.

Stand it up and let it dry out for a few days.

It should work again.

Good luck!

I don't think there is anything you can do -
my mom dropped hers in the ocean, and we tried everything to save it....
probably just going to have to get a new one
