of course you can use them for electric guitars. in fact, if anything they are used more with electric guitars than with acoustic guitars. Its more common to fingerpick with an acoustic while fingerpicking with electric guitars is less common than before. It doesnt matter what kind of guitar it is, you can used a pick or your fingers. Its all about the way you want to play and the type of sound you want since fingerpicking has a smoother sound but with a pick you can articulate louder and can have more of a percussive sound sometimes.

Yes, most people who plays the electric uses a pick too. Actually you should ask the other way round are guitar picks only for electric guitars, that would be a more appropriate question. God blessed.

You'd be hard pressed to find an electric guitar player play completely without one!

Guitar picks come in varying thicknesses to correspond with the type of strings they are played on- electric guitars generally having thicker, metal wounds strings in some cases.

They can be used on electric guitars too. My guitar teacher once said, use a thin pick, until you can play with a crowbar like Eddie Van Halen, stick with the thin pick.

yes, they are used on both... there are about three types of picks, and you may use them for any kind of guitar.... but sometimes, electric guitarists use a different type of pick than the acoustic players... it just depends...

They can be used for both. It's all about personal preference, actually. I can go with both, but I prefer picks on most of the songs that require...well, picking, instead of using my fingers to...pick.
