I was in America last year for Christmas and I noticed how a lot of the TV adverts say EG: "Holiday Shopping" "Holidays Lights" etc..

I'm from Britain I've been to a lot of countries that say "Christmas" why is it that you guys say holidays instead :-S

Because of a lot of stupid, whining idiots who use this as a vehicle to claim their 15 minutes of fame. The majority of us still consider these the Christmas Holidays. Oh, and by the way, anyone doesn't like what I've written here can kiss my rusty red bucket.

There's a group of radical Christians who assume to possess power that they actually don't have. They have dictated that everyone under the sun, including the non-religious community, must be offended by the word "Christmas" whether anyone is or not, and that if they're not then they better start. So the word has thus been banned with no feedback or input from anyone, which has intensely annoyed many people.

Merry Christmas to you,,Some were trying to take Christ out of Christmas, but it didn't work. In my home it is still Merry Christmas, And a Christmas Tree, and Christmas Cards. Also Christmas Lights.

Well I'm one of those that doesn't celebrate christmas. However, "merry christmas" or whatever doesn't offend me.

But what's the big f-ing deal with "happy holidays"?! Everyone acts like it's offensive too. There's nothing wrong with "happy holidays" or "season's greetings" or "merry christmas".

BIG PICTURE here people!!!!! Jeez!

In America, we have Christmas for the Christains, Hannakah for the Jewish, Kwanzaa for the African Americans (not all...honestly, i dont know much about kwanzaa). So saying Happy Holidays incorporates everyone that is celebrating their holiday!!
