Art is a result of creative thinking...you can have this great idea and you transfer it to paper as a drawing or get some marble and sculpt your idea to life. See, art can be anything, there is a wide range of media to choose from; painting, sculpture, literature interpretive dance, all of this can be considered art. All it takes is an idea...

That depends on the year in which you ask it. Our definition of art isn't universally constant...our acceptance of what is and what isn't art changes every day based on our experiences and ability to articulate them, and an imperative to reconcile our reactions and executions today with those of past generations. Contexts warp whatever definition we chose, so there is little to add to the shorter meaning that art is the practice and output of human interpretations -- objective and subjective -- of the physical and metaphysical world.

Art is one heart seeking to communicate feelings, vision, and inspiration to another heart. The key component is communicate. Art which only seeks to express the artist's own world is narcisstic and not worthy of the name.
