I KNEW NO white people would give a honest answer to this question. I think its sick that some white people are living in a fantasy world were they think that Black and Hispanic people are already in control. From our leadership to the media in this country, whites are predominant and control everything. For the most part minorities don't even own the buildings in their own neighborhoods. For the most part, the only thing Black people control is there mind, unless they are brainwashed by society. There's has always been white presidents, mostly white government, and mostly white media. So where's the confusion? Just because there are a few complaints about conditions you see in the Caucasian controlled media, -- some white people assume that the world caters to black and Hispanic people?? take a look around and u will see otherwise. The things you hear about are a small fraction of the examples of prejudice and problems in the country. Minorities have a little power but its only a small percent, not equal to their population.

I think you meant "lost" all power, not "lots" all power.

I'm a woman to begin with. No power here, or not as much as I would like to have. Nothing changes. Putting a black man or a Hispanic man into a publically elected office isn't going to change anything in this nation, at least not much. The laundry still needs to get done, the food gets cooked, the kids get fed and taken to school, and I still have to rake my own leaves. I'm white, and I have Hispanic neighbors. No big deal. Our kids play together on occasion. We have a few black kids in the neighborhood also. They come over whenever they want.

Why do you ask?

I think that most people would agree that the "white people" are not the only ones "in charge." Whites can't "lots all power" because they don't have all the power. If you are trying to start a race debate, get your facts straight.

2001, over half of African American households of married couples earned $50,000 or more. They have the highest level of voter registration and participation in elections in 2004. African American genres have become some of the most dominant in mainstream popular music throughout the world. The first successful open heart surgery was performed by a bi-racial man, Dr. Daniel Hale Williams. Recent research indicates that one of the most famous landmarks in the United States, the Statue of Liberty was originally intended to represent the end of American slavery and originally modeled after a black woman.

For Blacks ages 25-34, the college enrollment rates are higher than the national average--11%, in contrast to a 9% national average. For Blacks ages 35 years and older, their college enrollment doubles the national average of 2% (as compared with 4% for Blacks).

18 percent of Hispanic women, versus only 1 percent of Non-Hispanic White women, are actually saving to start a business.

42 percent of Hispanics, versus 27 percent of non-Hispanic whites, believe they will become rich in their lifetime.

Hispanic youths aged 12 to 17 were less likely to report past month alcohol use and past month marijuana use than non-Hispanic whites.

1of every two people added to the nation’s population between July 1, 2003, and July 1, 2004, were Hispanic.

41.3 million--The estimated Hispanic population of the United States as of July 1, 2004, making people of Hispanic origin the nation’s largest race or ethnic minority. Hispanics constituted 14 percent of the nation’s total population.

1.6 million--The number of Hispanic-owned businesses in 2002.

1.1 million--The number of Latino veterans of the U.S. armed forces.

67%--The percentage of Hispanic families consisting of a married couple.

714,000--number of Hispanics 25 years and older with advanced degrees in 2004 (e.g., master’s, professional, doctorate).

Maybe the "blacks and mexican" deserve more credit than you are giving them. I am one of the "white people" you are talking about, and I have always been taught that all people are EQUAL. Yes, whites make up a higher percentage of those in "power," but it won't always be that way. And that doesn't mean that "blacks and mexicans" don't have any power.

Think before you type.

You know. I hate people who drag out the whole racism thing.. Stop the power exchange and just accept what has happened.. I cant go back and change the mistakes that happened in the past.. I didn't approve of what i learned.. and I would not have ever voted things to be that way.. I love all people except mean ones..

Why do you think the whites are in charge? Are you saying there are no black or latino politicians? Judges? Police Officers? What? Your question is quite racist. Racisim has to end on both sides, not just the whites. FYI, not all white people are racist, some don't give a hoot about color, religion or ethnic background. Even if you do.

Are we in charge? I've never woke up and thought "thank goodness we are in charge and have all the power today". No matter who is in charge, I am hitting the snooze button a couple of times like I do every morning!

Power is very overrated. Besides, haven't you been paying attention? Middle class white guys are the newest minority.
