Decker vs the replicant Roy Batty in "Bladerunner." Lots of William Blake poetry and philosophy going with that one.

Also, "The Enemy Below" in which destroyer and submarine commanders battle it out. (Mitchum and Jurgens starred.) This was copied in several Star Trek episodes. The whole movie is a fight scene.

For a short quick fights scene, you can't beat "Raiders of the Lost Ark" when Jones is confronted with a sword flourishing killer and the very annoyed Jones pulls out his pistol and shoots him.

Of course, the list is endless:

Basil Rathbone vs Errol Flynn in "Robin Hood" (the original).

The Four Musketters (very historically accurate what with the kicking, grunting, double sword use and smoky, inaccurate muskets)

"The Blue Max". How can you beat a World War 1 dog-fight?
Except to follow it with a "Fight Club" chaser....

My favorite would have to be the entire chase/fight scene in the second Matrix movie where they are on the freeway. Personally, altough most of it was digitally edited, I love the parts where they would jump on cars and all the trouble of setting up the traffic. And I know it's not a fight scene, but I also love the part where Trinity drives the motorcycle off the roof and it crashes into the security shed. Her landing was a good touch...

Favorite fight scene was in True Romance when Patricia Arquette was getting a serious a** whupping from James Ganfolfini's character and then all of a sudden she got tough and started using everything around her to whip his a**. My next favorite: The fight scene in the Matrix Reloaded with Neo and Merovingian's guards were "trying" to kick Neo's a**. And the soundtrack to that scene was awesome too!

I am tired of fight scenes for the most part. They're too predictable and boring. Matrix was great cuz it gave us something different.
But, the funniest scene I ever saw was in the movie 9 Months when Tom Arnold and Hugh Grant beat the crap out of a Barney like mascot in a toy store.

Hello the decider,

I agree with BoomerWisdom that the sword fighting scene in "Robin Hood" with Basil Rathbone and Errol Flynn was one of the greats. I also liked the one in "Captain Blood" too. But, the sword fighting scene in Toshiro Mifune's "Sword of Doom" was so great that Tom Cruise basically copied it in "The Last Samurai".

The scene in Lethal Weapon 4 when Jet Li is fighting Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and they all pull their guns on each other simultaneously...

And I know it's not a movie, but this scene in Buffy in the finale of Season two, where Angelis and Buffy are sword fighting and she falls over and he says 'no family, no friends, noone to help you. Who's left?' and she says 'me' and closes her eyes, then catches his sword between her hands and pushes it back and smacks him in the head with it...

Well, I didn't explain it very well, but it's a very cool fight scene.
