Yes i am tired of everything being so "comercialized". Its gone to almost every holiday we have.
Christmas decorations next to the halloween ones, christmas music on the radio before thanksgiving.
All the 'latest' toys advertised how early to get the kids begging for more and more...
HATE IT

It was bad enough when it was happening just in the stores, but now neighbors have their Christmas lights and decorations up way before Thanksgiving. It's all very nice and pretty, but everyone gets tired of it all, even before the holiday itself arrives, and usually take it all down the day after Christmas instead of leaving it up until New Year's.
Someone PLEASE tell me what we can do to reverse it all and go back to the old days of one holiday at a time. Can we call the manufacturer's to hault early holiday production? Neighborhood boycotts of upcoming holidays until they get here? Picket signs? Any suggestions?????
I miss the days of Halloween = Oct, Thanksgiving = Nov, and Christmas = Dec. Seems like it's all getting jammed into one gigantic holiday: Hallothanksmas.
Look out America, because December 16th is the official start of ValenPattyEaster...

I agree, I want to celebrate each Holiday when it's time is now. Not 2 months from now. For Halloween, I'm looking for a sexy costume, ready to have scary spooky fun, and I start to see Christmas decorations out. I don't want to celebrate xmas, I want to celebrate Halloween. Then Thanksgiving. Then after that Holiday's over, I will be ready for Christmas. My husband and I start decorating Dec. 1 no sooner. The whole month of December I like to celebrate, music, snow, *hopefully* holiday shopping, eggnog, the works. And when Valentine's Day gets here, they will already have Easter stuff out. Life's to short to not live in the moment and consume every little treasure.

I agree, I noticed the local stores were putting up the Christmas decorations and getting out the trees and ornaments just before Halloween. That's way too early.

don't let the commercialization of christmas get you away from the real meaning of christmas.
all the businesses are trying to make money earlier. and there are a few people out there who are buying stuff for decorating in september.
personally i am not ready for christmas music until after thanksgiving. yes it is weird to hear christmas music early november...just change the station or leave the store

I agree. I work in retail myself, and it seems that the christmas season is starting earlier and earlier every year.
I feel like I'm behind if I haven't finished my christmas shopping before thanksgiving!!
Halloween and Thanksgiving are not moneymaking holidays when compared to Christmas, so that it why they get by passed.

I hate it also. Instead of getting me in the spirit it drags the spirit right out of me! I understand the day after Thanksgiving but before Halloween? Our mall has had decorations up for that long--I was like come'on!
I love Christmas. I put my tree up the first Sunday in December. I have all my decorations decked out--I'm all holly and jolly--IN DECEMBER! It's totally blown way out of proportion!

Christmas could start on December 26th for all I care. I like listening to the music and planning for the season. It's only as commercialized as you let it be. No one HAS to buy into the gimmicks.
