I had this happen to my truck, and my o2 sensor went bad and when that happens it don't know how much fuel to pump so it dumps the fuel which in turn dumps into your cadillatic converters after a little while of doing that it gums up and burns the honeycomb inside of them and you will lose power and it runs very rough if it is you need to replace o2 sensor and the converters. Because of all the fuel dumping into converters it will use more gas plus you will smell it really strong.

How many miles on the timing belt? perhaps it may have jumped a notch or two and you are running too retarded. This should show up on the timing light when you check it. Any kind of different noises from the engine? possible valve spring gone or burnt valve ( will show up on a compression check). Could also be a bad injector. Good hunting !
