You know i am really love this kind of compilcated question to answer. And here my opinion :
Gary moore ??? an underrated guitar player ??? Oh no dude, for me Gary is one of the most genius guitarist in this planet of rock music. Why ? Gary as many guitarist in this world is influenced by blues music, but then he choose his way to be in rock music even his root is blues music. He enter the Thin Lizzy, then Colosseum II, also with Greg lake, in a band named Skid row, also in a band BBM with Jack bruce and Ginger baker and of course his solo. As you that the band that he enter are the big name bands, from this we could see that the quality of a guitarist named Gary moore. He is the genius musician. He help so many musician beside all the bands that he entered and his solo, he ever play with phil collins and rod argent in Wild Connection, or with Don airey in K2 album, in a band called G-Force etc.
But maybe for some people his name are not as big as Eric Clapton, but for me he is God, a genius rock guitarist that ever born in this world. I also love eric clapton with his killer blues harmony in all his albums. But please they are in a very different world of music, Eric clapton is a blues rock guitarist, but Gary is a rock blues guitarist.
