Any type of toner works fine. There is also an active ingredient that is really beneficial, it's called benzol peroxide. it helps to cleanse the pores for healthy fresh skin. Ask your chemist about it, they usually supply creams with it up to a maximum of 10 % but it dries skin, use the 2.5% for best results.

i am in the same position ... oily skin blocked pores horrible feeling .. its all there :/ iv tried many products but they didnt work ... so wat i now do .. is wash my face with a home made facial mask .... simply mix ... 1 tbl spoon honey 3tbl spoon gram flour 1 tbl spoon tumeric powder and then mix it all togeather with milk ... if it's really lumpy whisk it all until u get a smooth fine texture apply to yur face 3-4 tyms daily it'l help yur oily skin ,pores and will also leave your face glowing .. but you've got to use this for a good 15 days to c positive results good luck at nyt tym i use sudocrem to cure the blackheads i hav ... this allows the blocked pores open a lil and the dirt comes to top surface so in the morning when i use the mask the blackheads are gone and my pores are cleaner and tighter :) .. hope i helpd

i think you should just treat your girl to a facial b/c it might be kinda weird if you gave her something for her face. lol=].. unless you're really cool with each other and whatnot..

if you're looking to shrink pores, first, clean them out. first by steaming, then maybe using a scrub. next, make sure you always always always use a toner. that was made specifically for that purpose. proactive is actually for acne.. so i'm not sure if that'll have the same effect...

but like i said before, the best christmas present would probably be a facial.. you can go with her, too=]
i'm pretty sure she'll appreciate her guy getting a facial with her. lol

try proactive, you know form the info mercials.
If it works on Lindsay, and Jessica, it will work on her too.

Honestly I bough some a few years ago, it does help.

You could also buy her a basket and fill it with other things too. Like say, Biore' products, and things she will use to pamper herself. Some nail polish, and nail files, lotions, and what not.

Cuz let me tell you, even though I complain about my skin too, If my bf bought me something to shrink my pores for Christmas. I would kill him!!!

I like The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil stuff, and soap and water always works for me, but that's 'cause I'm allergic to a ton of the stuff in most products, lol. The Body Shop would be your store if you want good facial products.

Definitely Cetaphil cleanser. It is cheap and very effective. Clears up skin and complexion in general, and minimises pores. I am from Australia, and we can buy it here in our local Chemist (Drugstore).

Maybe you could treat her to a nice facial. You could stop by a quality skin care counter at a department store and ask their advice. I use Dr. Perricone and love it. It is expensive but a little goes a long way. They sell it at Nordstroms and on-line.

When you find something that really works on pores, tell me. I tried that Biore stuff and it wasn't really effective.

I think cold alcohol or water works just fine, but a toner is supposed to work well, too.
