Teen Spirit is a type of deoderant that's still around but was pretty popular among teens in the early 90s. I guess the smell is rose scented than because that's what I remember it smelling like...

"Teen Spirit" was a brand of deodorant marketted to teenage girls. Someone wrote that on Kurt Cobain's wall. He thought they were talking about teen revolution, an idea that was prominent in the area at the time. He didn't know it was the name of a deodorant because he didn't use deodorant. When he used it as a song title he meant teen revolution.

I guess since teen spirit is supposed to be motivating, uplifting, forward moving and powerful, then I guess the smell could be anything relevant to any of those qualities.

It may be coming from your own armpits... and all the deodorant in the world won't help you.
