I actually don't know if you can do this if the label is larger than the text. One potential method to try is to make the label 1 pixel wide in the design window. And write out the text. When the form loads, keep increasing the width of the label until it is all visible, and then you know the exact width. This is a horrible design, but its the only way I can think of to determine the width of the text within a label.
