By default, the username and password for a Linksys router is:

Username: admin
Password: admin

These should be reset immediately for security measures. If that is not working, you can actually reset your router by pushing a small reset putting on the back for a few seconds and then releasing. Be warned, it will wipe out any settings you had.

If you cannot remember the username/password combo, you need to reset the modem.

The default values for a Linksys Router are:

Username: (leave blank)
Password: admin

If this does not work, reset the modem by depressing the reset button on the back for approx. 10 seconds. Once the lights stop flashing the modem will be reset.

Try logging on again....

Point 1)
192.168.1.1 is a default IP assigned, but you can change it.
I usually leave this IP. Main device is configured with 1.1

Now, the range of IP addresses your router assign to other computers, through DNS service, can be changed. i.e. starting on 192.168.50.20 in case it makes conflict with a Network Server that has its own DNS.

Point 2)
If you do not remember your ID and password, reset the router configuration by pressing the buttom located in front of your router (linksys logo) or by pressing a little buttom located at rear of your router.

When you reset a router all configuration will be lost. You have to configure it again.

ok dude... hope that helps you. Good luck!

User name: (Leave blank)
Password: admin

Unless you edit before your user name and password of your router or else the default setting is like that.

If you do edit before your user name and password of your router, you'll have to reset it again. To reset it, search the reset button back of your router and press it with something like pen for a few seconds.

*http://192.168.1.1/ is for Linksys router. You should have your username and password on your user guide.*

There is alot of help on site if you need more. You just need the model number of router to get specifics.

The reason You can't log onto this Router, is because it has the same address as mine at my own Home. I can't tell you the password to it, but I can tell you that it will be very difficult to crack the user name and password if that is what you want to do. I would prefer if you didn't try though.

Yep, 192.168.1.1 is the IP of your router. If it's your network, you know the password. If you don't, check the manual for the router. If it's not your network, you don't belong there anyway.

The default is usually USER NAME: Admin, and PASSWORD: is Password. If that doesn't work, there should be a reset button you push with a pen or paper clip, to erase the old password.
