a guy who dresses nice but not too metro- dont go 100% A&F prep. its okay to wear preppy clothes but mix it up a bit. go for a relaxed look. just make sure your pants reach the ground when you sit, too-short pants are a deal breaker.

So a lot of people answered what I was going to say.
First find clothes that flatter your body type. And some styles on guys are not always flattering to girls, even though it's the ultimate style in france (aka skinny jeans on guys).
Abercrombie and Fitch is always a good place to start for hang out clothes. Their jeans are good fitting and they sit low on the waist. Girls also can't resist a guy that looks casual but still nice.
Lacoste polos are always a plus. They really make your upper body look nice.
Club Monaco is a great dress up place. You can always get by with pin stripes or a nice blazer.
AE is overrated, and Hollister is a little high schoolish as well although their jeans fit somewhat like abercrombie's.
another thing to do is accesorize. Baseball caps, or a beanie hat always looks nice along with a belt, and aviator sunglasses...
clogs are always a nice touch for shoes as well, and flip flops always look casual.
Ralph Lauren is always nice to finish off your wardobe....
good luck!

Try taking your answer from a man who knows a thing or two about dressing. Of course, many women may suggest the typical Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Gap and so on. I say, kick it up a notch. Make it all about proper fit and quality.
1. Buy tees that fit and are made of pima cotton. Think Lacoste polos also (draw attention to your chest & arms and the soft fabrics practically invite women to touch you).
2. Leather belts with stylish buckles. Not exactly the kind that cowboys & rednecks wear.
3. Premium denim jeans. 7 for all Mankind, True Religions, Citizens of Humanity, 575s (these labels are guaranteed to show off your thighs & ***).
4. Make it old skool with a pair of classic Chuck Taylors (low tops preferably)
Using those 4 guidelines as a base, personalize it all and make it yours, man.
The ladies will notice.

Diesel jeans....exsp, euro style tennis shoes.....love the tight fitting t-shirts by A&F and Aeropostle...only on boyz ur age with a bit muscle. Bannana Republic and Gap (only for young teen/college student) for a little dressier look. Oh and definately beaded/shell style necklace and/or silver black leather bracelet.....check out young Christiano Ronaldo's images(world's greatest soccer forward, or one of the best). He is a snazy dresser, but if you are fair complected you might look gay and if your a brother you can beef it all up and wear bright orange and yellow the more color the better shows off the beautiful skin, but if ur a brother u already dress just fine and i mean fine.

go to club monaco. or if you're in america.. i dont know i dont live there, just stay away from american eagle stuff, you're too old for that, no matter what anyone says. it's "meant for college students" but really, all the teen. kids are buying it. abercrombie is OK for casual wear, and french connection is always good. if you're into athletic stuff, i love adidas for guys. great shoes, great jackets. oh and try to stay away from aldo shoes...i usually cant find any nice aldo shoes i like on guys.
