I don't think everyone is anti-drugs. I think in reality the average citizen is a lot more open to them being used.
Most people now recognize that coffee, tea, chocolate, etc. all contain drugs. Lets face it, it everything we did never made anyone happy we wouldn't anything at all.
All most of these illegal drugs do is release chemicals that are already in our brains, chemicals to make us relaxed or excited. The same chemicals are released when we do exercise or are startled for example.
However, because people are afraid to be different, they like to popular or be in the 'in' crowd. This sometimes can be good and sometimes can be bad. Remember everyone decided to believe the Earth was flat for around 600 years even after they were told it was round. By the way, the guy who was correct (Aristotle or someone) was senteced to death or imprisoned.
Therefore, now i belive that most citizens realize that drugs do not make someone bad, as was protrayed and which led to people of bad demeanour exaserbating this misconception.
Everyone knows someone who took drugs and is as healthy as pie and would help an old lady cross the road anytime. In the same way everyone knows someone who swears by God that drugs are evil, has never tried them, cheats on their spouse, couldn't run 1/2 a mile and would never help anyone.
Try not to stereotype people into druggies and non druggies or you leave yourself open to abuse from people with bad characters whether they do or don't.

Summary
Some drug takers love Jesus more than church goers, some are evil.
Some non drug takers are as nasty as can be, some are nice.

Maybe your just hanging out with the wrong/right crowd. Definitely the hard drug culture is less linked with the art/music culture than it has been in the past. People still use drugs a lot. But I think they like to keep quiet about more than before because of the raging conservativism that is plaguing our world. This generation has also seen several generations of celebrities that have died young from drug abuse.

DRugs are bad for the mind, body and soul. Drugs are a one way trip to hell. Drugs are never going to be any good or any good will ever come out of drugs. DRugs cost people their lives, they cost parents their children. They cost governmentsmoney in health care and health problems. With people becoming more health conscious and children learning more about their bodies - hopefully more and more people will be anti drugs, and that can be only a good thing. if I could have a wish I would hope that my son when he is older will say to somebody who offers him any thing stronger that a chocolate liquer - "Do you know what that will do to your body? " "Man you are an idiot" Does that answer your question?

'... nowadays' ? Why, was there times earlier when 'everyone' was for drugs at any time?
Being anti-drug is the norm for any and every sane and sensible person in human society.
Please remember, man is a social animal, and that includes you too ...

Not everybody is, I can assure you! For many it is a way of life.
I think if you are young, healthy, happy and intelligent there is absolutely no reason you should be taking drugs.
As for the rest of us? Sometimes it's nice to get a buzz from something. And don't forget that nearly all of us will spend the last few days of our lives, out of our heads on drugs of ONE sort or another. In some grotty hospital bed or geriatric home.
I don't hate drugs but I DO hate dealers, and the drug culture that surrounds them.

that depends on what type of drug you're referring to.
i stay away from prescription drugs in general because they're always coming out with something new and then a few years later they're getting sued for it working inproperly.
i stay away from other, usually illegal, drugs because i don't need to alter my reality.
other than taking an occassional antibiotic, i stick to herbal rememdies...they've been around for many years, and help without all the weird side effects.

a lot of s**t has happened to people who have done drugs in the past. drugs are not good news at all.
they are building new prisons and mental instiutions for people on drugs
I love my freedom and I would never want to be in a prison or a mental institute.

Maybe because prisons are filling up and shelters are overloaded and and and and...
It is obvious to me that too many problems are created by using and too many people were using...got out of control more than the 60's and still getting worse in my mind.
People are tired of being ripped off or victimized by addicts.
