That is a good question. I think for the sake of the relationship, small lies have to be told, such as "You were the best looking man at the party!" Or, "Don't worry about losing your hair. I like bald men." But with larger issues, such as finances, honesty is the best policy. If you are caught in a lie, your partner will never trust you again, and a good relationship is one built on trust.

Only when you've been tied to a chair and have a spotlight on your face, then yes.
I'm being sarcastic, but basically, honesty has a context, and it means that if an honest answer is absolutely essential, then you give an honest answer. But at the same time, there are other requirements: there has to be kindness, understanding, and a positive vibe. You can't just say "you just ugly when you wake up". Just don't say nothing. If they ask you about your feelings, then you answer honestly and and kindly.
Honesty is good because it allows a relationship to be built with trust. And trust is a good thing. Whan you do a breach of honesty, or fail to provide an honest answer to a question, or do something dishonest, you damage the trust, therefore the relationship. That's very hard to mend.

Honesty is absolutely the best policy!! But, also, things that happened before the relationship, are not your bf/gf business. If it doesn't concern them, there is no need to discuss.

lol no clue i've never had a boy, cuz when they asked i turned down, i dont really like boys, i just kinda be friends. When i say i dont really like boys, that does not mean im gay---cauz im not. That means im not crushing on alot of boys at the moment. As a matter of fact, my longest crush was about a week.....But I do like this 1 boy....anyways, no clue, but honesty sounds really good to me. MY friends have problems with their relationships bc they lie or cheat or something unhonest, so that sounds like a really really good policy, or the best who knows? Not me. Good luck and God Bless.

It depends on what the greater good is for the situation. If you may hurt someone's feelings over a simple opinion then you should tell them what they want to hear. If it involves important life affecting information then you should tell the truth and let things fall where they may Not every problem has a right or wrong solution.

my parents have been married for 30 some odd years, and they are still finding things out about each other that they never knew.

honesty may be the best policy, but patience is a virtue. it takes a lifetime to know someone intimately in order to be 100% honest with them.

Yes and No.
It is always best to be honest with your mate. However sometimes on certain issues it is best just not to say anything. I wouldn't volunteer information but if asked I would be honest about it. GL

Absolutely. So are tact and consideration. Be kindly affectionate and loving toward one another is a commandment of God. Be as gentle with the truth as you would like others to be gentle with you.

relationship will not last forever if you are not honest with each other, see how many relationships are broken because of dishonesty. and if you are dishonest with each other it's better to have no relationship at all better to ask him you'll just be best friends .....
