Black or white: it doesn't matter. Everyone has different personalities, no matter their skin color. Just like white people, you will find that some black people are easy to talk to and some are not. This is not because of skin color but because every person in the world is different and unique.
There is no general "black personality" just like there is no general "white personality." Think of all of your classmates and how much they all differ from each other: could you describe all of them with the same personality? Nope.
My guess is that you will do fine socially in college, as long as you keep an open mind. By going to a private school with all white kids you have probably been a bit sheltered in the diversity aspect. All your life you have probably been around people of the same ethnic background and social class, and college might be a bit of a shock. There are tons of different people in the world, of different religions, ethnicities, having a different amount of wealth, different interests... just remember to always meet new people, and never think of someone in regards to their skin color.

If you go to a highly multicultural university, you might in fact experience some culture shock. You will find, however, that when you meet a black person for the first time it will be just like meeting any other person.
Please note that it is racist to ask if black people have the same personalities as white people. Not all white people are the same, and not all black people are the same. More than likely you will meet a black person who will touch your heart and you will wonder why you had to go so long without ever meeting a black person before. However, You will also come across black people you don't get along with just like you will come across white people you don't get along with, or people of any other race, ethnicity, religion, etc.
Good luck and always remember to keep an open heart and mind.

No, we are not all the same. This is true whether you're speaking of a Black person, white or whatever. It is doubtful that you will have difficulties unless you try to treat a Black person in some special demeaning manner. The personalities of Black people vary tremendously. Some will have a background of affluence while others will have grown up under poor circumstances. This, of course, will influence their perspectives and understanding of those things with which you may be familiar. Be yourself, be honest, be considerate and you will be just fine.

Do you go to a private school on another planet? I would think that you will have a problem when you go to school, because you don't think before you speak (or write). Do all of the white people you know have the same personality? Are they all easy to talk to?
You will have problems because in your mind black have already been set apart from the general population because they are black. You are a part of a new generation but your thoughts are very old. Good luck.

Believe it or not, there are many white people who have never met a black person. Many of them live WAY out in the country on farms where there aren't many people of different races (I came from a small town of 99 people and there was nobody of another race than white).
I have met many black people in the Navy, and they're like everyone else. There are some white people that are obnoxious, and there are black people who are, same with hispanics and asians. There are some that are really easy going and very approachable about any subject.
Just don't be afraid of anyone.

Yes, it is normal. Growing up, I went to an all balck school, and thought that white people were a minority.
Sure, black people havetheir own culture, but at the same time they are just people. Some like this, some like that. Just like white poeple, some like this and some like that. I dont think you would have any socialy problems. You might say a few things that to some might sound racially unsensitive or something, but I really dont think that you would ahve any problems.
Just dont generlize.
And to Tori: He was in a way being ignorant, becuase ignorance is a lack of knowladge, but not in a bad way. I do not, however, think he was being racist at all.

One, it's not surprising at all. I went to private school most of my life and met many Caucasians that have never interacted with a Black person. We're all human, what makes us different is our backgrounds. There are just as many Caucasians that you may not have things in common with as any other race.
I think that as long as your asking the question, you won't have any issues with socializing down the line. Just be open minded and remember that every new person you meet (irregardless of race) is an opportunity and doesn't reflect on that person's race, social class, nationality, sex, religion, sexual orientation, age and the rest (I think I covered all the groups).
Merry Christmas!!!

That is odd. I'm white and I used to live with blacks. They have personalities just like us. They became like family. There are some bad apples but, that goes for anybody. I don't see anyon as a race. I see everyone the same. We are all just people.

You can't generalize anyone. All people have different personalities based on where they grew up, experiences, etc. Not all black people have the same personality and neither do all whites.
Remember, you'll be meeting all the colors between black and white as well.

Why does it concern you this MUCH?. It is not like if you are missing something big or small.
By the way, don't you communicate ONLINE, right now you are communicating with Black people as well. Or you were just trying to say there WERE NO BLACK PEOPLE in private national schools?. lol
