she left him as a partner because last season she was "stabbed" in the neck... a small puncture wound, and he went to her aide instead of going after the little boy who was kidnapped and he was murdered during the time he checked on olivia. then, later when they were still trying to save the little girl... olivia saved him instead of possibly saving the little girl... and they said they were too attached to remain partners... but she's coming back!!!

From what I remember from the episode when Olivia went into Cragen's office and asked for a new partner, it was because Elliott didn't put Olivia's safety first, he made a poor judgment and Olivia could have been badly hurt and she questioned his loyalty to her as his partner and she felt she needed to break the partnership in order to save the friendship. I am sure I am missing a few of the details, but that's what I got out of that episode. In the new episodes, I think Olivia is a little jealous of Elliott's new partner, and I think she thought she would be able to come right back as his partner and found out she's been replaced. It's going to be an interesting new season of SVU.

DANG!!! I was wathcing them faithfully until about 5 mos ago because I was never seeing any new episodes.
I don't know if you are talking about a newer episode or one of the older ones where Olivia was upset with Elliot for not having her back on a case so she requested to be transferred. She also was having problems with the way Elliot was handling his interrogations. DANG!! I can't remember the specific details. I do believe they had to write this incident in because "Olivia", I dont' remember her real name was pregnant and going on leave in real life.
She and Elliot did reconcile when she returned and she became his partner again.

Yes I agree I would like to see the same ! Glad to see Elliot is getting back witht his family though ! But him and liv should be friends again ! They sort of touched on it at the end of the episode the other night mentioning "trust"

There isn't really a rift. Because Marishka was pregnant her character got "loaned" to the feds so she could have her baby and do her maternity leave. She is coming back now.

If you look back to when Olivia was being stalked by a murder she got upset that Elliot felt she couldn't do her job.I believe that's what started it.

the latest issue between them is when she came to visit Captain Cragen, she saw Elliott kissing Dani...she will never admit to being jealous but she was...if you watched this week's episode, one of the suspects was named Danielle and he kept calling her Dani...but by the end of the episode, going down in the elevator, theyjust find out that they have the same bloodtype...
