If the 911 line you were sent to, has an enhanced 911 system your location can be traced and an officer will be sent to your location. They also will try to call back if they are able to get the number. Next time, wait for the dispatcher to answer and tell them it was accidental.

They have caller ID and know your address immediately when you call 911. Once when my daughter was about 3 she called 911 and hung up. 3 police cars showed up at my house in just a few minutes.

omg i did that once. i was calling my friends number and it starts with 891 and i must of went to fast on all the other numbers and i accidently dialed 911. when i called no one picked up (i guess it was busy) so i hung up. about 10min later i heard a knock on the door and it was a policeman! it was scary cause i was home alone and im only 12. i told him my story and he didnt believe me. he didnt do anything but now i always make sure im calling the right number!

They will call you back and or show up at your house. You just dont call 911 by mistake. They take it very seriously.

They can trace the call. You should have said something like "sorry, wrong number." How old are you anyway?
