Ok, it seems like alot of people have the same type of question. so here goes.

I was offered a job with a base salary of 30,000, that's base, it's a sales job and could go up. the job requires I work M-F 8-6 and every other saturday 8-12. This would be a no brainer, but it has been my dream to become a pilot. I was planning on attending flight school. The problem... Classes start at 6, and I am not guarenteed to get out of work on time. The other thing is, saturday mornings have classes 9-12.

So as you can see, I have to make a decision... That much money seems like a fortune to me, being right out of college. But I would have to put my dream on hold. What does everyone think? Try for a better accomidating job with probably less pay, or follow my dream?

It's a big step.

Take a pay cut and follow your dreams... I put my dreams on hold for so many years because of "good paying" pain-in-the-*ss-jobs. Now at 41, I'm just starting to pursue my passion in Art, I have my 1st exhibit Dec 1st and now I'm starting my 1st romance novel... Life is too short. Have you heard of "opportunity cost" what are you willing to scarifice to make your dreams happen -- money ($$) or time?

I would go for the job. RIght now good jobs are hard to come by. If you find you dont like the job at least you know you tried instead of wondering what the job would have been like. If it has room for growth it could be a job that you might want to stick with for a while. Flight school could always come later........... think about whats best for you. Think of this.......where do you want to be in 5, 10 years?? Which decision could take you farther???

take the job...save then when you have enough pursue your pilot dream... by then you can have the luxury of having a lower paying job but has a schedule that will easily accomodate your pilot class...

i'd say always follow your dream... but you can put in on hold for a little while so you can be in a better position to pursue it

If you are still young and passionate, and have some money, I suggest you go for the school. Otherwise...

Take the job. If you don't, you would most likely regret it like most people
