What are some tongan beliefs?

I need some information on Tonga and their beliefs and values. I am doing a report on Tonga for my class.

I met the Prince of Tonga in 1974 while I was a VIP driver in the Navy. He came to Hawaii to speak with CINCPAC. While riding to his meeting, he told me the Russians were bothering Tonga and he would ask the USA for help to keep them away. At that time, I believe Tonga had no monetary system. They bartered.
