You have to have a reputation first. But that aside, it depends on what the data was.

it depends what was on it. You should think carefully about what was on that flash drive. if there was personal information, credit card info, etc. then you should think about cancelling your credit cards and alerting your credit agencies.

In any case I think they'd really be stupid to try something using that info.

If I found one I'd turn it in to lost & found to the nearest building. or, I'd open up the flash drive and see if there was a name & address to return it to.

I put a sticker on my flash drive with my name & address on it (at work, not home.) I lost it once and some guy picked it up and wouldn't give it back unless I gave him $10. Pain in the butt!

Sure if they find it they might do that depending on what you've stored on the drive.

Odds are if they're going to look it would be to find out the owner's name. (thats if they were going to return it.)

If they were just happy to find the freebie, other than checking out the pics (if you are keeping pics that could ruin your rep, they should be encrypted.) they would probably just format it.

depends on what you have on the drive ..... if you just had some general stuff which wouldnt be of much use, i am sure who ever found it would be least bothered.
