I know you have to have a drivers licence to get into the bar. But can they ask you for any other ID to confirm your identity? Like your birth certificate, or what?

Driver's License or State ID. Alternativly, Military ID or Passport, although some bars won't take those.

If you present a valid driver's license, I suppose legally they could ask you for secondary ID (birth certificate, social security card, etc) but it's not commonly done. If the doorman doesn't think the ID is real or doesn't think it belongs to you, they might ask you some questions about the ID, stuff you'd know if you really are the person and the age that the ID says you are, like what's the nearest freeway exit to your house or what astrological sign you are. I've seen that happen a LOT and never seen anyone ask for a birth certificate.

If they still don't believe you, they'll just turn you away. When they're in doubt, I don't think a birth certificate is going to make any difference.

If you don't have a driver's license they'll take a passport, state ID card, military ID, and possibly a government employee card if the agency you work for puts the DOB on it.

Only your State Issued Identification Card or Driver's Licence.

they can deny any ID. I never had any problem.. State issued ID always worked for me. I don't think they can accept any other form of ID that has no picture.. So other than state issued it would have to be a military ID or a passport.

just a state issued id such as a driver's license or id card. other documents could lead to identity theft.

no, just your id. they won't accept nothing else.you need to show proof your the legal age to enter the bar where alcohol is being served. sometimes you can use fake id's like i did when i was younger, but if they have that one scanner, your screwed, they'll either rip your id or call the cops.
