Gracie is cute but very popular. In my daughter's class, there are three of them. Whatever you do, on the birth certificate, put the real name (Grace or whatever) and then call the child the cutesy nickname. Imagine your daughter wants to become a senator... Senator Gracie Smith...or a judge...or a doctor. A nickname for a first name does not sound like serious person. The written name should be formal and then go crazy with the nicknames. If she turns out to be an artist, she can be Gracie all day long.

I think that's cute but old at the same time ! I would name by daughter like this. I always love Grace, but it's wasn't my favorite, but Gracy is more cool ! You should write like this : Gracy or Gracie.

Good luck !

Love the name. It may be old but i think its one of those names that is timeless. Also the name 'grows' with the child. Gracie is cute while the baby is young and as she matures she can just use Grace.
I think you should spell it Gracie, but its entirely up to you.

Grace and Gracie are both cute, but just realize there will be about 5 others in her class at school. And from personal experience, the more unique the spelling, the more it will be mis-spelled and mispronounced (even if it is obvious).

Gracie is indeed a "cute" name...but when your little girl is all grown up, do you want everyone to associate "cuteness" to her, or would you rather have something more dignified? "Cute" is fine when they're 4 years old...not when they are an adult trying to be taken seriously.

Stick with "Grace" or perhaps something like Graciella...or there's the rarely-heard "Gretchen" that could possibly be shortened to Gracie.

And as for spellings, I abhor anything spelled "-i" when the sound is "ee". Stick with the -ie. "Gracy" makes me think of "Gacy" (as in the murderer)

Just remember that no matter what you name her or how you spell it, the name will have connotations--think about that.

Best of luck!
