I saw it and thought it was awesome. It's nice to see they made the character a little more human, and spent more time on the plot and characters and less time on the stupid unbelievable gadgets. IE. the invisible car ( what the hell was that?)

Not me. The beauty of Bond is that he's like totally suave, above it all, not prone to emotional attachments and now this version is in love and vulnerable to attack. Yuck!

I was never a that big a fan of Sean outside of the Bond franchise...and really enjoyed Roger Moore in The Saint TV series prior to and during the Bond film hype. I've always been a huge Cary Grant fan...but I suppose my judgement/perspective may be clouded somewhat after all these years of seeing Connery, Lazenby, and Moore etc portraying our hero .Somehow I just don't see Grant being all that convincing as 007...his age being one of the reasons. I never cared at all for Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, Tim Dalton. BQ: Too many great performances...but 'An Affair to Remember' and 'North by Northwest' would be right up there. BQ2: Thunderball BQ3: If I had to choose, I suppose 'Zardoz'...just for the simple fact it's hilarious! BQ4: Live and Let Die BQ5: Never Say Never Again Do you think Bobcat Goldthwait would make a good James Bond? He's middle aged now...perfect for the role I think.

Daniel Craig is brilliant. He brings some of the reality back into the series. Bronsan was fun but the plots were so over the top, it was like watching a cartoon. I hope this is the direction the Bond films will take for a while. By the way, Craig is great in "The Trench" and "Layercake", too. A real tough guy.

Initially I was skeptical of Daniel Craig playing James Bond. But after watching Casino Royale, I thought he was brilliant. It was about time James Bond gets a total makeover. Kudos to the director and the writers. Hopefully the standard does not deteriorate in the next upcoming Bond films.

I tend to be a purist when it comes to Bond but Craig really made this a believable movie. And given where the book fits in the series, it makes sense that the character is more vulnerable and not as suave as other Bonds. I went into the movie not thinking I would like it. I was very, very pleasantly surprised!

This was a more down to earth, more believable Bond. I remember the days when Bond could come out of an explosion without a hair out of place.
Daniel Craig was even tortured in this new Bond, now that's more believable. He was more vulnerable, I liked that.

I thought it was one of the better ones---I would not say the best however---my fave is still Goldfinger and Spy Who Loved Me--I think Casino Royale would come in 3rd.
