i know we are years away of being able to do this but...
what if we can genetically engineer everyone to be sterile, and when you want to have a child you can go to a special clinic that makes you temporarily fertile so you can conceive your child. would you go along with it?

I have a better solution... why not deplete the testosterone out of all males under the age of 25... then put it back when they marry and vow to remain monogamous.

All your solution does is allow more free sex... resulting in more STDs,etc...

In my more fascist moments, I would agree with you. Add to it a requirement that you be married, at least 24 years old, and able to pass a written exam, a physical, and a background check that includes drug/alcohol screening.

But only in my more fascist moments.

(the spousal unit teaches middle school and some of the sorry excuses for parents that he runs into make me wonder how God allowed them to reproduce).

I wouldn't care if you had it done, I might ask my girlfriend if she had it done, I would like to know if she slept with 1 or 500.
It will also not prevent STD's Aids. OF which is 100pct preventable if you do not sleep around.

There are dozens of diseases out there you can catch from sleeping around. Abstinence is the best policy.

That has the potential to solve a lot of problems: unwanted pregnancies, overpopulation, and global warming. I'd say it has some merit.

Nope, please don't genetically engineer me, I might turn into the Hulk or something.

Here's an idea right back at you. Abortion can be made illegal, if we can have free sterilization for anyone that wants it. Sexual education in schools by age 9 with condoms and free birth control for anyone of any age that wants it.

You want to stop abortions, I want to stop them before they happen.

What makes you think it is a question for us to address, answer, and compromise on? The Supreme Cou- .... ahem, the Supreme Dictators are in charge of the abortion issue. They have said that abortion is a constitutional right. By saying that, they have taken the subject matter out of our hands and placed in -- and this part is hilarious -- in the hands of those who proposed and ratified the 14th Amendment.

Rediculous Idea. Everyone doesn't wish to
be genetically anything, much less sterile.

Never. This violates nature. This does not at all address the irresponsible behavior that gets women pregnant. Having sex can lead to getting pregnant. If you are not willing to have a child, no sex.

That would be the greatest invention ever!! No more crack babies or unwanted children. It makes way too much sense to ever be legal
