Why are my underarms burning and peeling despite using hypoallerginic deodorant?

For about 2 months my underarms have been chemically burned and then peel every time I try to use deodorant. I even used a spray that is nothing but mineral salts and purified water and it STILL happened. To treat it, I mix olive oil and tea tree oil together and apply with a Q-tip. When it heals up, I try a different kind of deodorant. After the mineral salt, I am out of options. Any suggestions about what is causing this and what I can do?

I am extremely frustrated and trying to figure out what I can use so that I don't stink when warm weather hits again. :(

I would agree that a Candida infection is possible. I can't figure out why it would only come out when I put on deodorant though?

it could be a yeast infection.anywhere where there is moisture u can get a yeast infection.
try useing medicated foot powder.sounds funny but it keeps ur underarms dry.

Have you tried to use a powder with zinc in it? Zinc is a good antibacterial and should help keep the odor down. Check out the powders in the baby aisle, especially the ones that are made for diaper rash. There is one powder that I like that is in a round pink container, I just can't recall the name at the moment, sorry. Do you have a natural health store near you. Talk with the people that run it and see if they have any suggestions. I know that the Tom's brand of natural hygiene products are good and maybe one of them will help and not irritate your underarms.

If you want to follow everyones advice that it may be a yeast infection, before you start treating yourself for this go to your search bar and type in "sypmtoms of yeast infection in arm pits" and read the sites where you will get the definition and the characteristics of the appearance of the infection. Site #1 - Intertrigo - Yeast Infections in Skin Folds is a good site with the information on this that is easy to understand. If this is what you have then go ahead with the treatment of using an antifungal cream. If this does not sound like the rash that you are getting I recommend that you see a dermatologist. Good Luck!

I used to have this same problem. I now use a deodorant that is free of proplyene glycol and it has worked very well for me. I have very sensitive skin under my arms, so I have to sometimes put lotion under my arms to keep the itching down.

Another idea that you can try is a product called "Body Mint." It is a tablet that you can take twice a day to keep your under arms and the rest of your body odor free. I used Body Mint for a long time, but I had to stop because it is very expensive. You may want to try this method.

I had a similar problem as this went to doctor and found out limp nodes were infected and causing my underarms to burn and hurt.Gave me 10 days of real strong pill no longer have problem

You could have crabs...or you could be very sensitive to deodorant. Try using just plain cornstarch baby powder for a couple of days. After it clears up, then use a mild spray deodorant. Honestly, it sounds like u are allergic to the alcohol in the deodorant.

Nurdreams might be right, the same thing happened to my husband and his mom ( a nurse of 30 years) told him to spray the stuff for athletes foot on there and it went away. It was a yeast infection.

let your skin heal and breathe about 6 weeks and try again.
if it then doesnt work just quit using deodorant and just use soap and water.
cause this allergic is probably permanent. cause you are allergic to some of the chemicals used in the deodorant.
