no, but I do not think the decision should be based just on gender- the student's sexuality needs to be a consideration as well

Yeah, because otherwise you might end up with a really terrible person as a roommate and it is easier to be in a room with a friend or partner. If they do do stuff that there business there in college and able to make that decision for them selves

I think it could be an option for junior & senior year, but definetely not freshman or sophomore year. There's no way my kid would be rooming with the opposite sex at that age. I think the parents should have a say too, especially if they're paying for the room & board.

No because there would be much more drama and much more rooms being switched. I doubt male and female can live together without once being involved, which would much complicate things. UNLESS one of the is homosexual. Then maybe it could work.

No, roommates dont get along regardless of sex. I think having different sex roommates would add to the frustration. I hate roommates!
